1. Initial Enquiry & Intake
Your journey begins with an enquiry. we offer a 15 minute consultation to answer any questions you have regarding the assessment process and to see if an assessment is right for you.
2. Pre-assessment Questionnaire
This is a form completed before the diagnostic process begins. Its main purpose is to gather essential background information that helps clinicians prepare for the assessment and determine whether a full autism evaluation is appropriate.
3. Informant Questionnaire
An informant questionnaire is a standardized form completed by someone who knows the individual well—usually a parent, partner, caregiver, or close family member. It provides valuable insights into the individual's behaviours, social interactions, communication, and development from the perspective of someone who has observed them over time.
4. Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment
The next step involves a thorough evaluation using gold-standard diagnostic tools. This may include:
Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)
Developmental and Social History Interview (e.g. ADI-R / DISCO / or similar)
This process will be completed by two clinicians.
5. Diagnostic Report
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed written report. This includes:
Assessment outcomes
Diagnostic conclusions
Strengths and areas of difficulty
Recommendations for support, strategies, and next steps
6. Post-Diagnostic Session
A diagnosis is just the beginning. We can provide guidance on accessing support services, educational accommodations, and referrals to relevant professionals. A follow-up session is included to help you feel confident moving forward.
