1. Initial Enquiry & Consultation
Your journey begins with an enquiry. We offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation to answer any questions you may have about the assessment process and to help determine whether an ADHD assessment is the right step for you.
We understand that seeking an assessment can feel significant, and we aim to provide a supportive, neuro-affirming space where you can explore your experiences and concerns without judgement.
2. Pre-Assessment Screening Questionnaire
Before your assessment, you will be asked to complete a detailed screening questionnaire. This helps us gather important background information about your experiences, current difficulties, strengths, and the ways ADHD traits may impact different areas of your life.
The questionnaire also allows our clinicians to prepare thoroughly for your assessment and identify any areas requiring further exploration.
3. Informant Questionnaire
As part of a comprehensive ADHD assessment, we ask someone who knows you well—such as a parent, partner, sibling, close family member, or long-term friend—to complete an informant questionnaire where possible.
This provides valuable information about childhood development, behavioural patterns, and how ADHD traits may have presented across different stages of life. Where an informant is unavailable, alternative sources of evidence can be discussed with your clinician.
4. Comprehensive ADHD Diagnostic Assessment
The assessment appointment involves a detailed clinical evaluation conducted by experienced clinicians using evidence-based assessment methods aligned with current NICE guidelines.
The assessment typically includes:
Comprehensive developmental history
Full psychiatric and mental health history
Exploration of ADHD symptoms across childhood and adulthood
Assessment of functional impact across education, employment, relationships, and daily living
Review of medical history and relevant background information
Consideration of strengths, coping strategies, and lived experiences
Assessment of co-occurring conditions, including autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other neurodevelopmental differences
Differential diagnostic assessment
Mental State Examination (MSE)
Standardised ADHD assessment tools and rating scales
Our clinicians take a neuro-affirming and person-centred approach, recognising both the strengths and challenges associated with ADHD.
5. Diagnostic Review and Clinical Formulation
Following the assessment, the clinical team will carefully review all information gathered throughout the assessment process.
Where appropriate, a diagnosis of ADHD will be made in accordance with recognised diagnostic criteria. Regardless of the outcome, we provide a comprehensive formulation that helps explain your experiences, strengths, challenges, and support needs.
6. Comprehensive Diagnostic Report
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed written report which includes:
Assessment findings
Diagnostic outcome
Clinical formulation
Summary of strengths and areas of difficulty
Consideration of co-occurring conditions
Recommendations for support and reasonable adjustments
Workplace, educational, and daily living recommendations
Suggested next steps and signposting to appropriate services
This report can be shared with relevant professionals should you choose to do so.
7. Feedback and Post-Diagnostic Session
A diagnosis is often the beginning of a new understanding of yourself rather than the end of the journey.
A feedback session is included as part of the assessment process, providing an opportunity to discuss your results, ask questions, and explore recommendations. We can also provide guidance regarding support services, workplace adjustments, educational accommodations, self-management strategies, and further referrals where appropriate.

"The assessment from start to finish was handled sensitively and thoroughly. The service provided by Jodie and Emily was second to none they were always at hand with any queries that I had regarding the assessment process as a whole nothing was too much trouble for them. The assessment was comprehensive and both Jodie and Emily showed great professionalism throughout the process, the information that I was given throughout the whole process was accurate and concise. Both my son and I felt comfortable during the assessment process andthe information provided during the post assessment visit was greatly detailed and very informative. Also the in-depth discussion that involved the family as a whole regarding the outcome of the report and the diagnosis was very informative and very thorougher. We are extremely grateful to both Jodie and Emily for providing us with an excellent service and would have no hesitation in recommending to others".
